The NAACP Colorado Springs Branch hosts the "Financial Freedom Listening Tour," an opportunity for community residents & other stakeholders to learn about economic justice, the predatory lending industry, how predatory financial practices affect Black & Brown communities, and what can be done to insure that all families have a chance to build wealth instead of seeing it stripped away by predatory lending practices -- payday loans. Childcare available. Visa Gift Cards for participants.

11:00 to 11:45 am--Light Lunch Served

Noon to 1:00 -- A Primer on Predatory Practices and The Debt Trap

1:00 to 1:30 -- Initiative 126: An effort to establish a 36 percent payday loan rate cap in Colorado

1:30 to 2:45 -- Tell Your Story about payday loans and other predatory financial tools and how they have affected you and your family

2:45--3:00 -- Wrap Up and Next Steps
