The Interfaith Alliance of Colorado is a steering member of Fair Lending for a Thriving Colorado (FLTC). The coalition, led by the Bell Policy Center, aims to build upon the strengths of existing state legislation that protects Coloradans from predatory lending practices, and identify laws and policies that could be further strengthened to ensure that vulnerable community members are not taken advantage of by unjust practices.

Predatory lending-credit practices that exploit low-income and, disproportionately, minority communities-include:

● Payday lending

● Consumer installment lending

● Postsecondary education and training

● Debt buying and collecting

● Title loans

● Paid tax preparer regulation

● Reverse mortgages/purchasing of life insurance
